ASCENT OF MOUNT CEINT
Mount Ceint, or peak of Girantes is a unique viewpoint allowing you to admire the summits overlooking the valley of Garbet, including the splendid red peak of Bassies. Difference in height : 700 m

ASCENT OF MONT-VALIER
The most famous peak in the Couserans, the Mont Valier was climbed during the Vth century by the Bishop Valier, and its proud silhouette can be recognized from far away. A nature reserve by the same name shelters numerous “isards” (chamois), the golden eagle and the bearded lammergeyer. The refuge of Estagnous provides an essential overnight stay during its long ascent. Difference in height : day 1 : +1300 m ; day 2 : +700 m / -2000 m

SNOWSHOE HIKE AND NIGHT IN IGLOO
Day 1 : Hike with snowshoes up to our bivouac. Construction of igloos: their comfort will depend on the care brought to its construction. Dinner with grilled meat in the refuge around the chimney. Night hike under the stars. Hot wine and night in igloo or in refuge for those who wish it. Altitude : + 300 m.
Day 2 : Climb to Cap de Bouirex (1873 m). 360° panoramic view : Valier, Mont-Rouch, Certescans, trois seigneurs, offering a complete view of the Couserans. Fun descent in virgin snow. Altitude: + 300 m /-600 m

Accomodation: igloo or refuge
Dates: winter season, on request (depending on snow conditions)


What to bring : pants and ski jacket, polar vest, wool hat, gloves, sunglasses, knapsack of approximately 30/35liters, water (2 litters/person), energy bars, flashlight, sleeping bag (comfort temperature : 0/-5°C ; the temperature inside the igloo is between 0 to +2°C), insulating foam mat, survival blanket. Change of clothes : socks, track trousers, sport shirt.

ASCENT OF « TUC DE L’HOMME » (2713 m)
Very close to Pic of Maubermé, this easy summit allows an exceptional view on the Aranese Pyrenees. Our walk will start above the Spanish village of Bagerque.
Difference in altitude : + 900m.

ASCENT OF « PIC DE LA TESE » (2254 m)
This great hike strolls along the large crest leading to “pic de la Tèse”, the departure point being the “col de la Serre du Cot”. We will walk under the kind survey of the “Lord of Couserans”, the Mont Valier. This also can be a nice hike during the winter with snowshoes.
Difference in altitude : + 700m.

Above the green mountain pasture of Gerac, this fresh little pond is a really nice summer destination.

THE RED PIC OF BASSIES (2676m)
Starting from « plateau de Coumebière », I propose to organize the ascent of this peak, which owes its name to the particular coloration of its rocs. Let’s get a taste of the granitic universe on the frontier crest between Spain and France.
Difference in altitude : +1200 m.
